The Ecumenical Jury returns to Cannes for its 52nd edition.

Since 1974, the Ecumenical Jury — appointed by SIGNIS and INTERFILM — has been invited to the Cannes Film Festival to award a prize to a film in the official competition. The jury is made up of six members from different countries and backgrounds (journalists, critics, theologians, teachers), all members of a Christian church and open to interreligious dialogue. They watch, discuss, and deliberate independently throughout the festival, seeking films that combine artistic quality with human or spiritual depth — works that highlight values such as justice, dignity, peace, solidarity, and reconciliation.

For the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival (May 12–23, 2026), the 52nd Ecumenical Jury is composed of Annette Gjerde-Hansen (Norway, Jury President), Adrián Baccaro (Argentina), Catherine Escrive (France), Jakob Hoffmann (Germany), Vincent Miéville (France), and Rubén de la Prida Caballero (Spain).

On May 23, the jury presents its prize before guests, press, and the awarded filmmakers. To date, the jury has given out 51 prizes and 59 special mentions.
