SIGNIS India elects new board of directors

SIGNIS India delegates gathered to elect their new board of directors for the 2023-2027 term. The newly elected president is Fr. Victor Vijay Lobo, who acted as Secretary and Treasurer for SIGNIS India for two terms from 2014 to 2022, thus he has experience with the organization, its functionalities, and the involvement of members.

“I have humbly accepted the mandate. It is my duty to contribute sustainably to the further growth of SIGNIS India”, says Fr. Victor. “I believe in decentralizing, communication, and teamwork. I would like to work as a team to keep the Integrity, growth, and activities of SIGNIS India”. When talking about what he sees in the future, Fr. Victor emphasizes that “we need to find newer realms to reach the broader masses and give visibility to its activities, to build the brand of SIGNIS India using innovative methods and putting our members at the center, they are our strength”.

SIGNIS India has more than 260 members between individuals, institutions, laity, and religious people, most of them working in Catholic media and a minority working in secular media. Nevertheless, Fr. Victor would like to increase the number of lay media professionals in SIGNIS India. “I am blessed to have a fine mixture of veterans, newbies, and innovative, full-pledged media professionals in the team of SIGNIS India National office bearers. I am sure, with their cordial support, SIGNIS India can reach newer heights and become an active body in the Church and the secular world”, says Fr. Victor.

The new SIGNIS India board of directors is composed as follows:
Fr. Victor Vijay Lobo as President, supported by Mr. Sumit Dhanraj as Vice President. The secretary is Fr. David Arokiam and the treasurer Fr. Milton Sebastian. The National Screening Committee is constituted of two members: Fr. C R Justy and Sr. Tessy Jacob.
